Žuna butter had its beginnings in a family kitchen and developed until those very family members approved and loved it. Given that butter production creates quite a mess, at one point it was no longer possible at home – the black wall from the stains was no longer black, everything was greasy – another solution had to be found.
We decided to step out of the kitchen and on March 8, 2021, we bought our first small butter churn, a holiday gift from a husband to his wife, who has since started making butter for all of you.
We didn't know exactly what we were getting into, we had never had any contact with dairies, gastronomy, food production, regulations, or machinery.
We learned along the way, we didn't give up. Not even when registering this kind of production seemed like fighting windmills, not even when, with other jobs and two small children, the question was often - do we really need this in our lives?
But everyone needs good butter. So we dedicated ourselves to the mission of making the best butter possible. And with determination, effort, dedication, great desire and even greater love, everything that seemed impossible at first became more and more possible. Today, it is our everyday life. Every day, a small production in Belgrade makes homemade butter.
